After 18 months living and playing music in Edingburgh, Scotland, Brigid Kaelin is now back in Louisville.
Composer, arranger and writer Brigid Kaelin has played accordion, musical saw and sung with musical heroes from Cowboy Jack Clement to Elvis Costello and has performed on the BBC, A Prairie Home Companion, Nashville Star and more. She plays more than ten instruments, tours Europe at least once a year, yet remains a staple in the Louisville music scene. Brigid is the co-host of the 30-year-old radio variety show Kentucky Homefront and musical directs Ben Sollee's new podcast, KENTUCKY USA. As a writer, she's had bylines in Salon.com, Louisville Magazine, Velocity, Insider Louisville, LEO, ScaryMommy. She authors The Red Accordion Diaries, where she overshares her adventures in travel, whiskey, and motherhood. Louisville, Kentucky, is home ... for now.
Brigid is also the mother of 7-yr-old actor, Graham Caldwell, who plays the son of Mark Ruffalo and Anne Hathaway in Dark Waters.
Brigid’s blog has become as popular as her music. Originally writing about music & tour stories, she now shares thoughts on travel, cooking, whisky, whiskey, gardening, history, and the arts. And sometimes baby stuff too.
