Something cool to watch (if you like that sort of thing).

I just LOVE things like this. My favorite thing about producing documentaries for CBS was uncovering the footage in their vast archives. A few years ago, when I did some early production help on NPR's "This I Believe," (my name's even in the acknowledgements of the book!) I got to hear/organize/find essays read by folks like Eleanor Roosevelt. I always wondered about historical figures on film or audio -- like what was Lincoln's voice like? How many US presidents had British accents? And other questions to ponder...

Anyway, I love this silent film of Mark Twain, shot by none other than Thomas Edison. It would have been even more cool to read a transcript of their conversation, but you can't have everything. Enjoy:
